Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a dynamic Head of AI Governance to oversee enterprise-wide adoption and regulation of artificial intelligence—including Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies. This senior leadership position is designed for an experienced professional who can combine regulatory insight, technical understanding, and organisational influence to embed trust and accountability into their AI strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the organisation’s AI governance strategy, ensuring all AI and GenAI initiatives—including advanced Agentic AI systems—adhere to ethical, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Design and maintain governance frameworks covering model lifecycle management, data usage, transparency, bias mitigation, and oversight of third-party AI providers.
- Collaborate with senior business leaders, technology teams, compliance, and risk management to strengthen responsible AI adoption across the organisation.
- Establish control mechanisms for Generative AI tools (e.g. content generation, decision support, process automation) and Agentic AI models engaging autonomously with customers or internal systems.
- Monitor and interpret the evolving AI regulatory landscape for financial services, translating policy changes into actionable governance measures.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of AI governance and risk specialists, fostering close collaboration with data science and engineering functions.
- Advise executive management on responsible AI scaling to ensure sustainable innovation, operational integrity, and compliance alignment.
Candidate Profile
- At least 10 years’ experience in the financial services or banking sector, with strong grounding in data governance, risk, or compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams within technology governance, AI risk management, or analytics transformation.
- Solid understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, with working knowledge of Generative and Agentic AI frameworks.
- Deep appreciation of regulatory expectations around model transparency, ethical data use, and operational resilience in banking.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinker capable of designing governance programmes that evolve alongside innovation.
