We are currently partnered with a well-established Financial Institution in the region to hire a Wintel and VMware Infrastructure Lead. This senior-level role involves leading and managing the design, implementation, and support of Wintel technologies, virtualization solutions, and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Microsoft Azure. The Lead will provide advanced technical guidance, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the stability and security of both on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Wintel, virtualization, and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Lead design, implementation, and troubleshooting of virtualized and cloud infrastructure.
- Provide L3 support and manage complex technical issues, offering 24/7 on-call support as needed.
- Develop operational standards, automate processes, and manage vendor relationships.
- Drive disaster recovery, backup, and incident response planning.
- Oversee Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and ensure adherence to service levels.
- Participate in change management, reviewing and approving changes.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Virtualization and Wintel Expertise: Strong experience with VMware products (vSphere, NSX, vCloud Director, etc.) and Windows-based technologies (Microsoft Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP). Proven L3 support capabilities for complex issues.
- Cloud Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including design, migration, and operation of IaaS solutions. Experience with large-scale cloud environments, focusing on security and scalability.
- Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) and automation practices like Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Performance Monitoring: Familiarity with tools like Azure Log Analytics, Prometheus/Grafana, and other optimization tools.
- Leadership and Vendor Management: Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams and overseeing MSPs, with strong mentoring skills.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, Microsoft Azure, MCSE) are highly preferred. ITIL and PMP are an advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset for troubleshooting and decision-making.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Industry Experience: Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) is a plus, especially in managing compliant IT operations.
