An established International Private Bank is hiring in their credit risk and control management team.
Reporting to the Director of Credit Risk and Control, the team monitors and review the loan portfolio as per the Credit Policy guidelines whilst managing daily margin, limit excesses and collateral maintenance. This is a lean team with seasoned expertise managing all the books of the bank.
Key responsibilities
§ Send margin call notices / enforcement letters to clients via Relationship Managers (RM)
§ Perform tracking /monitoring/escalation of covenants, internal approval conditions
§ Liaise with RMs to follow up on measures to be taken to regularize excesses (margin and limit excesses) and breaches.
§ Provide knowledge and support on credit control related matters/ queries to RMs to ensure culture of risk compliance and partnerships
§ Prepare and be responsible for monthly internal MI reports, trackers and external regulatory credit reports to be submitted to the Head Office, Management and regulators.
§ Assist to develop/enhance processes, controls and reports to monitor risk exposures / approval conditions
§ Close collaboration with key stakeholders including Credit Structuring team, traders, legal and compliance on exceptional conditions monitoring issues, client's trading position and regulatory issues respectively
§ Input and maintain credit limits, credit conditions and other credit parameters such as risk groups, cross pledges, pricing, mortgages etc. in the system
§ Validation of trades (payments, loan draw downs, purchases) in queue
§ Perform portfolio analyses and market / issuer risk event monitoring for early identification of emerging collateral risks
§ Perform analysis of marketable securities (stocks, bonds. structured products, mutual & hedge funds) for possible proposal and assignment of standard lending and weighting rates
Key skills
- Track record of 8 years of relevant experience in a credit risk/control position, ideally within the Private Banking/ Wealth Management sector.
- Ideally the candidate would have knowledge and experience in Lombard, Mortgage, Life Insurance policies, margin lending related processes, collateral asset types such as equities, bonds and funds including currency linked products.
- Ability to handle margin and limit excesses independently within a short time frame in challenging market environments is vital
- Good understanding of credit processes and policies
- Proficient technically, especially strong in Microsoft Excel, Access and macro programming skills. Ability to use Bloomberg/Reuters will be an added advantage
