Quick Fire: Laura Bellamy

Laura Bellamy has gone on quite the journey with Eames Consulting. Joining our change and transformation team nearly 10 years ago, Laura’s worked her way up from associate consultant to manager, overseeing a team of recruiters placing mid-to-senior technology and change professionals into London market insurers. Laura shares some of the highlights of her recruitment career so far.

Describe the culture of Eames in three words.

"Inclusive, fun, hardworking," says Laura.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

"Seeing people develop."

What’s been the proudest moment of your career to date?

"Seeing the team promotion and… I'm going to give you two answers! The team promotion and then me making management."

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

"Delivering bad news."

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever been given?

"Be a sponge."

What did you spend your first commission cheque on?

"A car. Towards a car – not a whole car!"

First coffee of the day or the first beer after work?

"The pint!"

What is it about recruitment that has kept you in the industry?

"The people."

What does being an opportunity maker mean to you?

"Three different things. Opportunities for clients and candidates, opportunity for myself to grow and opportunity for the team."
